World Cup Champs!!!
No words can describe the euphoric feeling I'm experiencing right now... It was just spectacular watching Italy's victory.... Although, I have to admit... Italy played like crap.. Seriously.. France, on the other hand, controlled and played the game much better...
But, nothing steals the limelight like Zidane's dramatic exit... I mean, seriously, what was the man thinking??? And I'm damn curious to find out what Materazzi said to piss him off like that.. But this guy is a true legend... He's had a superb football career and what a way to retire.. By scoring and earning a red card.... Hell, I felt for him when I saw his dejected back view, walking past the Cup, down the stairs with his head down... A less than glorious exit for a man who's deserved much better... And all because he couldn't keep his cool...
On the whole, it was a nerve wrecking experience, especially during the penalty shootout.. Intense.. Italy was just amazing at the shootouts... All 5 went in.. And no one deserved it more than Italy.. Truly a world class team...
And there you have it... The end of the FIFA World Cup 2006... Just like that... All 63 matches.. One month of soccer mania has come to an end. I'm already feeling a void, what am I going to do for entertainment!!?? Heck, I was already feeling the void during the 3rd and 4th placing match...
It has been a fun World Cup experience, with crazy friends.. All the late nights and early mornings, lack of sleep, beer, Neslo and Mac.. Will have to be put on hold until 2010.. And hopefully by then, I would be able to afford my way to South Africa..
But... but... but... The highlight of my blog today is not yesterday's match.. Rather, a player... Fabio Cannavaro... Omg... He is so so so so hot... Captain of the Italian team.. And to think I never thought much of him until I saw him last night.. I've even got him on my wallpaper and MSN display... He is absolute yummy and drool worthy... Hot.. hot.. hot... You have no idea how scrumptious he is till you see him.. He looks good with his mane but he looks damn sexy without... *drool*
Oh wells, even Cannavaro wasn't enough to make my day... It has been a lousy day.. Maybe 'cos I was damn tired and everything got on my nerves.. And I mean everything.. I was so tired, I left work at 5.30pm sharp and came straight home. I'm about to crash pretty soon... And it's not even 9pm.
