Post V-Day

As expected, Valentine’s Day was bo-ring because I spent it with my classmates and lecturer.. bleah… nice guy picked me from school and we went for supper… But the surprise came on Thursday where I was asked to make my way to Taka. Okok, the surprise element wasn’t there ‘cos I was pre-empted.. But still, it was all worth it because I got a Braun Buffel wallet!!! :P

Best part is, I like it.. Cos I chose it!! Thank you, niceguy!! He’s been hinting that I get a decent wallet rather than the pseudo ProjectShop one that I try to pass off as a wallet.. He doesn’t see the point in me carrying a card holder, a coin purse and a pathetic wallet when I can buy one that merges all.. Oh well.. who cares, I have a nice new wallet!

Guess the next big event was CNY.. I have to declare that I hated CNY with a vengeance. Firstly, it’s the red and all the chinky-chonker stuff that is displayed all over Singapore. Second, the music.. Omg.. I absolutely and positively hate it!!! Then comes the spring cleaning.. I like spring-cleaning but when you have a slave-driver for a dad, you’ll hate it too… Daddy oversees spring-cleaning like a army general. And we, the minions, are at his mercy.. But by some stroke of divine intervention, this year, Dad’s working over the weekend.. So deputy general aka Mum takes over.. J

Mum’s a lot more relaxed when it comes to this but self-declared deputy general aka me, took over and ordered the men aka the brothers to clean the house.. But being the good leader I amJ, I led by example and did most of the cleaning.. Haha! But satisfaction over-rules the hard work.. At least the house was clean for CNY..

As usual, there’s nothing much to look forward to during CNY… Other than the eating… There’s still the eating… And more eating… I’m slowly, but surely depleting my supply of cornflake cookies from Raffles the Plaza (they are absolutely scrumptious!) and my stash of Royce chocolates hidden safely from the brothers.

But the one thing I enjoy during CNY is the gathering of my dad’s relatives at my place. Like I told niceguy, it seems more like Hari Raya than CNY. Why? Because my cousins are Malay..J But that’s another story for another time. My cousins and their families come over for lunch every CNY and its fun having everyone around. And did I mention that my niece (yes, she’s Malay too) is absolutely, gorgeously cute?? Omg.. she gets cuter as the years go by…

However, the highlight this year was the little outing we organized after the makan. 8 of us, my cousin and my aunt and my whole family plus niceguy went for a movie. It was a rather odd combination but we had loads of fun watching “Just Follow Law”.

Oh yes, niceguy and I took our first official photograph together.. Okok, technically, it isn’t a photo. It is a Neoprint. Yes, very secondary school, I know.. But hey, it turned out pretty nice..J
